Kofi P. Amponsah-Mensah

Kofi Peter Amponsah-Mensah is a mining engineer by training, from the UST- School of Mines now George Grant University of Mines and Technology (GGUMAT).

His experience spans over three decades in the mining industry where he began from the production face as a production hand and rising through technical operations and management to General Manager at Bibiani mines. His work experiences span across local and international companies and capacities – AGC/AGA – Obuasi, Bibiani, and Mponeng mine SA; Kinross Chirano mines, served in various capacities and roles;  Group manager- New business development & strategic planning, where he was involved in M&A, Mining manager, General manager / MD and  in directorship roles on a number of boards in various industries. (Mining, Education, Banking and Research)

He is a director/owner of Pamicor; a mining, consulting and mining services company. This has seen him involved in international contracts across West Africa. Viz Burkina faso, Guinea, Mali and Niger.  Currently a director of Nsoromma Resources Ltd involved in M&A opportunities in the mining and related industries across West Africa

Kofi has been actively involved in the development of mining industry over two decades. His involvement with mentorship and leadership development, and strategic industry ideation has been phenomenal.

He holds Diplomas in Mining Engineering (USTSM, Ghana now GGUMaT) and Advanced Mining Engineering (Lulea, Sweden); MBA (Cape Town, SA).

He is a Fellow of WAIMM, Accra Mining Network (AMN), Member – Advisory board of the Accra Mining Network, and the Alumni of GGUMaT (ALuMat).

He recently served as Chairman of management board of CSIR-WRI (Water Research Institute)

Director – Asanko Gold mines Ghana Member of board of Governors – Aggrey memorial SHS Board (his Alma Mata) and National President of Aggrey Memorial Old Students Association (AMOSA).

He is actively involved in the developmental issues of the mining industry.
